Group Therapy
Social Support for Specific Needs
Manage the Larger System
Our dedicated relational team also offers relational group therapy opportunities to augment your therapy work. Current clients at Willow have the opportunity to join specialized groups when appropriate to enhance the family therapy work. In group settings you will learn to manage relationships in new ways, understanding systems on a deeper level and learning how your actions and the actions of others interact to create thoughts and feelings for yourself and your peers.
Systemic Therapists
Our own psychological wellbeing is intimately connected with the health of our broader family and social systems as a whole. The Willow team is made up exclusively of trained systems therapists who will help you as a team, not merely treat individual “problems” or provide short-term “solutions.”
Neurodiversity Affirming
At Willow, we strive for empowerment and authenticity, honoring each person within the family for who they are, not training them to be who everyone else wants them to be.
Our systemic, affirming therapists always ensure group spaces are safe for everyone to be their authentic, unique selves.
FAQ
What is Systemic Therapy?
Systemic Therapy approaches mental health as the relationships *between* individuals, rather than looking at each person as an island. In a systems approach, behaviors are considered the product of the whole system (e.g., couple, family, society) rather than solely the individual’s “mental health.”
What are Systemic Therapists?
Systemic Therapists receive specialized training in psychology based in systems theory – the idea that humans are not isolated creatures, but rather exist as part of their families and society. At Willow Family Health we employ Marriage & Family Therapy Trainees from deeply systemic training programs who receive direct supervision from Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists that are also AAMFT Approved Supervisors — the most prestigious supervision designation available in the United States!
How long does Group Therapy last?
Each group is different, but generally topic-specific groups will run for a set 8 sessions (either weekly or biweekly), while process-oriented groups are ongoing with flexible entry and exit dates.
What does Family Therapy with Willow Family Health Cost?
Our full fee for family therapy is $100/session. However, as part of our mission to deliver affordable systemic therapy services to everyone in need, we have a number of financial aid packages available due to the generous support of our donors. If you require a lower fee, simply discuss this in advance with your therapist during your initital phone consultation!
